[Series Synopses] The Folk of the Air #2: The Wicked King

“Series Synopses” was created for those times when you’re ready to read the next book but can’t remember what happened previously, or forgot the characters involved, or need a quick reference for a derivative work, or anything else you want to use it for!

Hopefully obviously, herein lie SPOILERS.

Folk of the Air Tag

I was tagged by Bookbuyer forever ago, then reminded this tag existed when I saw it done by Rain @ Bookdragonism, then reminded again when I finally caved and read The Wicked King. But can you really blame me for putting it off, knowing how long we have to wait for The Queen of Nothing?

Some of these prompts involve spoilers for the books used to answer them; I’ve done my best to avoid giving away the specifics of major plot points or character revelations, but you may wish to proceed with caution. (By the way, if you want a refresher on The Cruel Prince before (re)reading The Wicked King or for when The Queen of Nothing finally comes out, I’ve got you covered 😉)

[Series Synopses] The Folk of the Air #1: The Cruel Prince & #1.5: The Lost Sisters

I’ve known for months that I wanted to create this set of posts, since one of my reading goals for this year is to finish off all the book series I’ve started — and in so many cases it’s been a long while and I don’t remember the characters or plot. Based on all the TCP rereads I saw leading up to the release of The Wicked King, a lot of people are in the same boat too! (I know many people have already finished rereading TCP, and read TWK as well, but since The Queen of Nothing doesn’t come out until next year these posts will hopefully still be helpful.)

And so you may have noticed The Cruel Prince hanging out on my Currently Reading shelf since January as I slowly reread and took notes. (I’ve also included The Lost Sisters in this post since it covers the same time period and events as The Cruel Prince.) I hadn’t accounted for the sheer amount of detail I wanted to record, and it took a while to figure out how exactly I wanted to format it all. While I still don’t have it completely figured out — I’m definitely open to feedback and suggestions — I’m more or less happy with how this post turned out … and here it finally is!
