👩💻 About the Blogger
Hello and welcome to my book blog!
My name is Isabelle (she/her). I’m Taiwanese-American, demibisexual (demisexual & bisexual), and autistic. At present I’m a bookwyrm, barista, and stenography student. In case you’re wondering, I’m a Capricorn who is either INFJ-T or INFP-T, depending on the day. Much like Hamilton, I tend to write like I’m running out of time and I will never be satisfied: too many things to do, too little time to do them.
My favorite genres are fantasy, contemporary, memoir, and poetry; but I’ll read almost anything that sounds interesting. (Though I don’t always finish; I DNF quite frequently. Again: too many books, too little time.) I’m particularly interested in works that include well-written diverse characters and/or thoughtfully address social issues — especially for the AAPI & BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or neurodivergent communities.
🦊 About the Blog
This blog was launched as BookwyrmBites in November 2018. The alliterative name was intended to play on the idea of “devouring” books, as well as reference the literary-inspired recipes I wanted to create. However, BookwyrmBites — while unique and hopefully memorable — never quite felt like me.
So at the end of 2019, I decided to rebrand. Since I love foxes, a good pun, paying homage to my East Asian heritage, and intersectional feminism, I arrived at Nine Tale Vixen. My content is focused primarily on books / reading, secondarily on my other interests — writing (both original fiction and fanfiction), baking, planning (bullet journaling), and more — and it’s important to me that this brand contains room to grow and change, specific to me rather than a particular niche.
📚 Nine Tales

- Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
- Middlegame by Seanan McGuire
- In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan
- The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
