February Reading Report

Although I took things easier on the blogging front, my use of reading as a coping mechanism definitely showed this month. I’m still figuring out my school/work/reading/life balance.

Overall, it’s been a 3.5-star kind of month. Not just because I gave that rating to a surprisingly high number of the books I read, but overall too β€” I’ve finished quite a few books, but I’ve also DNF’d quite a few books, and few of them really stand out (whether good or bad).

State of the ARC

State of the ARC is a monthly meme created by Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books.

With my mental exhaustion this month came a lack of self-restraint as far as requesting ARCs, and unfortunately I’m still getting approved for most of them. (To be clear, I’m grateful for every ARC I receive, though I sometimes half-wish publishers on Netgalley would save me from myself.)

And as far as reading ARCs, this month was kind of meh β€” I DNF’d as many as I finished. But I’ve still got some that I’m really looking forward to, including lots of good Asian rep!

  1. Of the books you read that we have in common mostly I liked them a little bit more than you did. But yay for also enjoying The Poet X as well. I really really hate Watership Down and can’t believe childhood me read that entire thing even though she didn’t like it and was reading of choice. I have read A Blade so Black and found it okay?? But to be honest, I am a bit nervous with your Silvera DNF as that is the only one of his I have yet to read!

    1. ah it’s always interesting to see different people’s opinions on different books, but I’m glad you could enjoy them more than I could!

honestly I feel like a large part of my DNF was that I wasn’t clicking with the audiobook narrator, which always makes a huge difference for me … so here’s hoping you’ll enjoy it when you get to it 🀞🏻
