February Preview

In February there is everything to hope for and nothing to regret.

– Patience Strong

After all the ups and downs of January, all I really want from this month is for my life to level out. Within a couple of weeks my schedule should be pretty well set β€” not just my classes and work hours, but also how I allot my free time β€” and that’ll hopefully allow me to just breathe and enjoy the ride.

Of course, that’s not to say I don’t have goals and plans for February!

Reading & Blogging

  • Read 10 books (or half of total read count) for #StartOnYourShelfathon.
  • Read 3 books for #YARC2020.
  • Bloghop at least once a week.
  • Schedule posts at least a week in advance.
  • Get through review backlog for Dec 2019 and Jan 2020, plus any other ARCs.

  • Apply for summer internships. (I know I’ve already missed the deadlines for some positions, but honestly I just didn’t have the bandwidth to worry about it until now.)
  • Come up with possible topics for senior honors thesis for next year; also think about which professors I might ask to be my thesis adviser.
  • Finish Spanish Duolingo.

Upcoming IRL

This week and onward, my extracurriculars and part-time job (I tutor at the on-campus writing center) will start to hit their stride. Which of course means I’ll be much busier, but these commitments have lasted through the years because these are the things that I genuinely love to do. Totally worth it.

But I don’t have much in terms of specific dates and events, at least not yet. Surprise me, February!

  • Do you have a favorite quote about this month or time of year?
  • What goals and plans do you have for this month?
  • Which upcoming releases are you most excited to read?
