Thanks to Haley @ The Caffeinated Reader for the tag! The creator of this tag is mysterious and unknown, but maybe the mystery will be solved one day. 😉
How Many Books Do You Usually Read At Once?
The most I’ve read at a time was 7-9, but I try to devote my reading attention to one at a time. Buddy reads and ARCs publishing back to back haven’t been helping with that, so I’ve been reading at least 3-4 at a time lately.
.
How Do You Decide When To Switch Between Multiple Reads?
One of my reading habits is to be more liberal with DNFing so I can start new ones and not waste time with books that don’t need my attention. Life is too short and my TBR is too dramatic to not maximize my reading time.
.
Do You Ever Switch Bookmarks Partway Through A Book?
I mostly read from a digital reader, so it’s not like I can choose my bookmark, much less switch them. 😂
.
Where Do You Keep the Book(s) You’re Currently Reading?
You can’t move one book without moving all the others when you’re on a digital reader. 😜
.
What Time Of Day Do You Read The Most?
When I’m not struggling with classes and school and life in general, I try to get a moment to myself and read. Most of the time I read at night.
.
How Long Do You Typically Read In One Session?
When you don’t keep track of time while reading because the book is that amazing and you suddenly realize it’s 4am and you have a morning class.
.
Do You Read Hardbacks With the Dust Jacket Off?
I rarely purchase books and try to make use of my local library when I can, which I can’t take the jacket off if I even want to. Frequently I’m reading digitally, though, so I don’t need to worry about the jacket.
.
What Position Do You Mainly Use To Read?
Sometimes I pretend I’m asleep so it’s quieter and I can read in my bed. Otherwise, I’m reading whenever I can, so my position is frequently adapting to the environment
.
Do You Take Your Current Read With You Everywhere You Go?
I actually have a Kindle that I’ve gotten into the habit of bringing with me everywhere I go, so not only am I bringing my current read, I’m bringing my entire pile.
.
How Often Do You Update Your Goodreads Reading Progress?
I don’t spend all my hours on Goodreads, but I update enough to keep track of my reading. I should probably make use of more time on Goodreads and be more active, though.
One final note… (click to show)
thank you to Soph for writing this post — and doing such a great job of imitating me that I’m honestly not convinced I didn’t write it and just forget about it. 😜Happy April Fool’s, everyone! And happy hunting for the post that I wrote to go up on someone else’s blog today … 🕵️ (Virtual cookies if you can find everyone who participated, and extra-special kudos, maybe a trophy even, if you can guess at least one without peeking!)
Tagging: Michelle • Ruby • Para • Jamsu • Jayati • Anisa • Lindsay • Shalini • and, as always, anyone else who’s interested! (And, also as always, apologies to any friends who have already done this tag.)
Bless the kindle and the fact it is something that is beyond bookmarks lol, I have to say I love reading in bed but it’s the worst, that ‘4am and class tomorrow’ is just life lol, yay for you doing the tag, I liked your answers, especially the ones where kindle just took the work out of the question away lol

absolutely agree Haley, Kindles are awesome especially as a means to circumvent questions about reading and reading habits, and classes suck! (but also did you read the end note? 😜)

I am someone who usually reads 3-4 books but I like that you try and read one at a time usually. And it’s great that you support your library so much and read on your ereader! I love my ereader as well ❤ I always admire you for being able to DNF so easily and keeping strict with it so that you don’t continue books you’re not enjoying. Such a good habit to have!

libraries are definitely great for both affordability and accessibility! Soph and I both rely on ereaders for sure 😉

These digital reader answers are literally the biggest moods I have ever seen. Like I feel them on the highest of levels. Great Tag Izzy-but-not-really! 😈🖤😈

God bless the Kindle and audiobooks lol!! Jk but this is the first I’ve heard of this tag and it’s good of how many books you’ve read so far. DNF-ing is good so you can leave room for books you want to read.

Thanks for the tag…Soph? 😂 Will stash it in my drafts. And kindles are amazing. Bless not having to drag huge books around.

haha the tag is from me, you’re welcome 😜 and yup, Kindles are such a big help considering my backpack already weighs almost as much as I do 😶

Haha, thanks! And oof, feel you on the backpack, mine is like it’s filled with actual bricks too (notes folder + almost 3 kg of laptop + odds and ends…). If I get back issues I won’t be surprised…

i too rarely use GR and mostly just hop in an update my progress when ive made enough its worth me updating

big mood, Lauren. tbh I either go through a book fast enough that there isn’t much point pausing to update, or so slowly that I want to update every 5 min as a celebration of reading anything at all 😅

I always forget that Goodreads is a social media platform. I’m just there to track books (but I have a spreadsheet too, so sometimes I just forget…)

haha I can relate to that! I feel so bad when I see people liking my reviews when I always forget to scroll through the feed and send some likes back their way 😅 but I really love that Goodreads tracks the dates read, Kindle highlights, and all the fun data!
