Thank you to bookwormmuse for the open invitation! This is my first book blog tag, so hopefully I’m doing it right.
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
Actually, no — I rarely push pause on books I’ve started; instead I’ll DNF (if I plan to give it another try I’ll usually wait at least a year), pick up another book to alternate with, or just push through to the end.
I do have a pile of Netgalley ARCs to get through, but that’s a separate issue.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Time’s Fool is set in autumn and seems like a good transition from university/college life to my winter break. Since it’s already winter, I’m also including Odette and Spinning Silver. (The latter is actually the leading January 2019 contender for Howl’s Moving Book Club!)
Is there a new release that you’re still waiting for?
All my 2018 anticipated reads are out and I’ll be doing a longer post on my 2019 anticipated releases, but I will say that I’m particularly excited for The Wicked King and Return of the Thief (among many others).
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
The Girl He Used to Know is my next physical ARC; it’s pretty different from what I’ve been reading lately so I’m looking forward to the change of pace (and, okay, to having printed pages in my hand again). Young Jane Young is the December 2018 for the Books & Boba group, so I hope I’ll be able to catch up. I’ve heard only good things about Sadie, and to be quite honest I’ll be disappointed if I don’t at least tear up reading it.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become a favorite of the year?
Have you already started making reading plans for 2019?
Oh, absolutely. I’ve been using this spreadsheet from Kaleena @ ReaderVoracious to figure out my reading order and track upcoming releases, and I have more than a few ideas to fulfill PopSugar reading challenge prompts. Stay tuned for more on all that 😉
I have absolutely no idea who to tag, so here’s another open invitation to anyone who wants to join in!
